Characteristics

High thrust function The 585C has a gas supply capacity of up to 150 psig and can generate up to 111,000 Newtons (25,000 lbs) of thrust to overcome high valve imbalances. Special constructions can generate up to 137,000 Newtons (30,800 lbs) of thrust.

Long strokes Depending on the size, strokes up to 203 mm (8 in) (standard) are available. Longer strokes up to 610 mm (24 in) are available upon request.

Dimensions of Dimensions The 585C is available in the following standard sizes: 25, 50, 60, 68, 80, 100 and 130. Larger cylinder sizes are available for specific applications.

Valve Mounting Capabilities Depending on the size, the 585C can be mounted to a 2-1/8 in. to 5 in. diameter bracket and a stem that is up to 1-1/4 in. in diameter. The special construction accommodates a 7" bracket lower interface and a 2" stem.

Positioner Mounting Features The universal NAMUR mounting provides a consistent mounting method for actuators from 25 to 130 sizes. The mounting function provides the vibration resistance specified by ISA-S75.13.

High Frequency Response The 585C's double-acting structure reacts quickly to meter signals.

Solid construction The pressure on both sides of the piston and the relatively small air volume in the cylinder ensure a solid and precise positioning.

Handwheels The 585C actuators with sizes 25 and 50 have top-mounted handwheels. All other sizes of the 585C actuator can accommodate side-mounted handwheels.

The biasing springs 25 and 50 size actuators have biasing springs. A biasing spring under the piston completely retracts the actuator stem when the air supply is disconnected, while the biasing spring at the top of the piston fully deploys the actuator stem. The spring bias mode is easily reversible without the need for additional components.
